CD Projekt Red has compiled a list of the most played The Witcher 3 mods that will work with the next-gen update. The development team has also stated that it will be releasing new modding tools to assist modders in making their programs work better with the game. CDPR states: A representative of the development team for CD Projekt Red has written a post on the official CD Projekt Red forums in which they detail their plans regarding mod compatibility. The last major PC update for the game was in 2016, thus it’s only natural that future updates would modify core files in ways that break certain mods. This is also why the modding tools are being introduced, so that old mods can be easily changed to work better with the next-gen update. Bence’s team will be releasing an updated version of TW3 WolvenKit soon after the update’s release (also when possible, considering their holiday season plans).” With such support, we can definitely expect some additional mods for the updated version. The next-gen update will release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on December 14th. Until then, rest assured that we will keep you informed of any developments.
