Ubisoft Denies a Marvel Blade Game in The Works

It appears that everywhere you look, a new Marvel game is being developed or hitting the shelves. Insomniac Games is currently working on Marve’s most hyped entry, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in addition to the teased a Wolverine game, Skydance is currently rumoured to be working on a Marvel ensemble game while EA has been rumoured to be developing a new Black Panther title. Currently, FireAxis Studios is in the final stages of the development of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and there are currently plenty of Marvel games for purchase on top of that. This made the recent Ubisoft rumour that the company is working on an upcoming Blade game all the more believable, but it turned out to be too good to be true. What’s surprising is that the rumour didn’t come as a result of some random internet user or Twitter post for that matter. This was speculated due to posts and images shared by Alex Martin and Edwin Gaffney on Instagram. The pair shared images of their Ubisoft motion capture suits on the social media platform where they posed with shades and Katanas and featured a clapperboard with Marvel as the title, and the director was named to be Bassam Tarik. Just now, at the time of writing this post, Edwin Gaffney deleted a story on Instagram which might have been related to the rumours surrounding the now denied Blade game by Ubisoft. This causes questions upon questions and confusion to pile up. While it’s confirmed that Ubisoft is working on a new videogame, which we don’t know about yet, the name of Bassam Tarik paired with the Marvel titled clapperboard caused news sites and users across the internet to speculate that this was indeed a Blade game in the works by Ubisoft. Bassam Tarik is currently directing the upcoming Blade 2023 MCU movie, which is slated to appear in cinemas in November 2023. While this rumour was pretty exciting and came from a pretty reliable source, the Ubisoft Blade rumours are pretty much at a dead end now, thanks to Ubisoft denying the information that a Blade Game is being developed at their studios. The company specifically stated that it “was sorry to slice up rumours,” but it wasn’t working on a Blade game. The company did express interest in the upcoming Blade movie, but this tweet leaves users scratching their heads, if anything.

— Ubisoft (@Ubisoft) August 22, 2022 While some fans showed frustration, others asked what they were working on over at their studios, which was never answered by Ubisoft. Ubisoft didn’t deny that they were working on a Marvel game, but it’s just not related to Blade. Still, the clapperboard featuring Bassam Tarik’s name paired with the Marve title becomes all the more questionable in addition to the deleted post. Maybe it was a troll planned by the actors, but that doesn’t explain why Ubisoft apologized on their behalf. It still remains to be seen what all of this could transpire to and hopefully, fans will get the answers to their questions soon enough. So, are you disappointed Ubisoft isn’t working on a Blade game? If not, what’s Ubisoft up to? A new Marvel game? Let us know in the comments below. We upload daily on Appuals, so stay tuned for more.
